Sunset Flight

Recently we had a photographer visit the school to take new photos, which included a sunset flight that I was lucky enough to backseat. Our CFI Gannon took us up for a holding pattern over Gold Coast Airport at 5500′ followed by a run along the coast as the sun set behind the skyline of the city. It was really great to go on a flight that wasn’t for training purposes, but just to watch a seasoned professional at work and see first hand the kind of thing a newly minted commercial pilot could expect. The flight was smooth, a completely different experience all round but highly valuable to a student training like me I believe. I did manage to sneak in some photos too which was a plus.
